Exhibiting the growth in last three months, BSkyB is believed to be generating pressure on Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation to improve its 700p-per-share offer after culture secretary Jeremy Hunt gave a green signal to the takeover.

The British pay-TV giant, BSkyB, has reported an outstanding business expansion with enrollment of 51,000 new customers in the third quarter and touched the sky shooting figure of 10.15 million for its number of subscribers.

An opinion poll has revealed that the public is demanding an independent inquiry into the proposed takeover of BSkyB by media firm called News Corporation, run by tycoon Rupert Murdoch.

The August launch of the service invites for a wholesale agreement for the channels between BT and BSkyB.

BSkyB has signed on a pact with BT that confirms the offering of Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 channels to BT Vision on-demand TV service users.

According to a recent report, the News Corp. is planning to purchase 61% stake in BSkyB. Sky is set to become richer due to its investment in broadband and HD. Its earnings are expected to become twice by the year 2012, with a sum of £1.2bn per year.

The News Corporation of Rupert Murdoch is willing to take the full control over the satellite broadcaster BSkyB by capturing the 60.9% shares of the company. But it has not been finalized yet.
