Orange and T-Mobile have indicated to surrender some of their combined allocation of broadcast spectrum, with the aim that the proposed merger goes ahead, which will result in T-Orange owning a total of 170MHz of broadcast spectrum, compared with Vodafone's 76MHz allocation and 3's 15MHz.

Reports and sources have speculated that Deutsche Telekom is looking at various options to try and revive its underperforming T-Mobile USA division. Options include an initial public offering or spin-off.

Close on the heels of a service outage that caused a temporary loss of personal data of its SideKick subscribers, T-Mobile USA faced yet another glitch late Tuesday, with a pervasive voice and data service outage affecting its subscribers all over the country!

In a Sunday announcement, T-Mobile introduced its two new pricing plans, namely - Even More and Even More Plus. While the former plans are the somewhat conventional two-year contract plans that includes hardware; the latter plans neither include a subsidized cell phone purchase nor any monthly payments’ contract.

In an attempt to clean up the massive Sidekick gaffe and regain some credibility with customers, Microsoft has started offering a data recovery tool to the affected T-Mobile Sidekick users, who lost their personal data due to Microsoft subsidiary Danger's server malfunction.

In contrast to Microsoft's Saturday statement that the T-Mobile Sidekick users' data was lost permanently due to a service glitch at its Danger subsidiary, Roz Ho - Microsoft's Corporate Vice President of Premium Mobile Experiences - recently said in a letter to the Sidekick users that there are chances of the lost data being restored.

The recent T-Mobile announcement, to recompense Sidekick users - who lost personal data due to a service outage - with $100 gift card, has only added insult to their injury of having lost their address books, busy calendars, photos, and countless notes!

Despite the fact that both Microsoft and T-Mobile had said on Saturday that the data which Sidekick users lost, due to a massive server failure by Microsoft’s Danger subsidiary, had gone for good; it is now being hoped that the recovery of the lost data might just be possible.

T-Mobile customers found themselves in the doldrums when their Danger Sidekick devices lost data services, making customers lose access to their address books, calendars plus other services that were stored in the cloud by the Danger owner Microsoft.

On Saturday, Microsoft stated that data not recovered thus far might be lost for ever.

 A service outage at the Microsoft subsidiary, Sidekick provider Danger, which led to a massive data failure earlier this week, has affected a large number of Sidekick users, who have permanently lost their personal information including contacts, calendar entries, and photographs.
