Motorola has taken the event of CES for launching new gear for a very long time and this year is no different. Motorola has unveiled as many as three new gadgets today with three new smart phones and a new tablet for geeks to enjoy.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia lineup of handsets now boasts a new Android-based smartphone – the Xperia Arc, which is a thin arc-styled slab handset that is only 8.7mm thin at its slimmest point.

On Wednesday, Samsung unveiled its slim new smartphone – the Infuse 4G, which apparently is AT&T’s first 4G handset – at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Despite the fact that Vodafone, and some other operators, have had a notoriously troublesome time in pushing Android 2.2 ‘Froyo’ upgrades to users, the network is bringing on ‘Froyo’ upgrade for the HTC Wildfire users straightaway.

On Wednesday, the SlingPlayer Mobile for iPad was released by Sling Media, for the US and European markets. The app - which enables Slingbox owners to view and control content on the Apple tablet - is available via Apple's iTunes store for $29.99, or £17.99, or _23.99.
