Official announcements have confirmed that the jury selection and opening arguments in a trial against an ex-Winkler County nurse are all set to commence on Monday.
Former nurse Anne Mitchell has been slapped with charges of giving personal patient information to the State Medical Board, allegedly with the aim to harass a doctor at the hospital in Kermit.
For the charges, Mitchell faces up-to 10 years of jail time in addition to a fine of up-to $10,000.
Recently, however, charges against Vicki Galle, another nurse, were dropped.
While County Attorney Scott Tidwell will try and prove that what the nurse did was illegal, both the Texas Nursing Association and the American Nursing Association are adamant that she was not out-of-line in any way.
