After Toyota Recall Plants Back to Work

Toyota is going to start the production again in the wake of temporary shutdowns at the automaker's Woodstock and Cambridge assembly plants. Human Resources Manager, Roy Winger, says Toyota will return to the full production today with the same compliment of staff.

Toronto, Ontario - Toyota Canada has resumed deliveries of the eight Toyota models identified in the January 21 recall notice. The models had been temporarily removed from sale following the recall. Simcoe Toyota began installing a corrective metal block in the accelerator pedal assembly of affected models on Friday, for Norfolk's Toyota drivers, and will continue on this week. Toyota Canada has recommenced sales and production of eight models. Toyota will also begin notifying owners of the vehicles and ask them to contact the local dealer to schedule an appointment for the necessary repair performed.

Production at Toyota's Woodstock assembly plant has returned and said that to fill a second shift enormous recall will not obstruct efforts to bring in 800 new workers. The plant which was constructed in November 2008, will double the production of the Rav4 which is gaining popularity.
