Barnes & Noble's Nook e-book reader has announced online availability of its highly-anticipated Nook electronic book reader and will land in the stores by mid-week, the book retailer announced Monday.
"Customers can visit the Barnes & Noble nook In-Store Locator at www. bn. com/nook/instore, updated daily beginning February 10, to find local stores with devices in-stock", the company posted in a blog post.
The retail stores extend the facility to access and enjoy the exclusive "More In Store" content and promotional offers. The "More In Store" content will be updated weekly and available for a four-week period. In February, Nook users in Barnes & Noble stores can grab 10% off any CD.
Barnes & Noble unveiled the Nook on October 20. Pre-orders started shipping on November 20, however, demand for the e-book reader delayed a second round of shipments until December 11.
Barnes & Noble Nook e-book reader is based on Google Android platform, measures by 7.7" x 4.9" x 0.5", weighs 11.2 ounces, features black and white 6" e-ink Vizplex screen with undisclosed resolution, 3.5" colour touch-screen for navigation.
Moreover, the device also features AT&T's wireless EDGE/HSDPA/UMTS mobile broadband connectivity with Wi-Fi compatibility to download the content as well. The Nook will be able to playback MP3 music, display photographs using its black and white screen.
