Close on the heels of the Tuesday release of Apple’s Aperture 3, which enables the photographers to import, manage and enhance photos in an integrated workflow, a few connected image software updates were also released by Apple.
Available via the Mac’s Software Update, the newly-released updates include - Aperture SlideShow Support Update 1.0; iLife Support 9.0.4; and Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 3.0.
The Aperture SlideShow Support update - which is a 62.3 MB download requiring Mac OS X 10.6.2 - essentially fixes playback of video clips used in Aperture 3 slideshows on the Snow Leopard.
Aimed at increasing the enhancing stability for slideshows viewed in the Media Browser and iPhoto, the 70 MB iLife Support ’09 update basically boosts the system software resources that iLife and other applications share. Apple has specifically recommended the download of the update for all the users of Aperture, iLife '09, and iWork; so as to avail the improved compatibility between Aperture 3 and the Media Browser.
The 6.4 MB Digital Camera Raw compatibility update is available for the Mac OS X 10.6.2 and 10.5.8 systems. The update extends the support of the iPhoto '09 and Aperture 3 for Raw image files to a range of cameras - which include Canon sRAW; Canon mRAW; Canon PowerShot S90; Leica D-LUX 4; and three Panasonic Lumix cameras – namely, DMC-G1, DMC-GH1, and DMC-LX3.
