China’s Health Ministry Destroys Contaminated Milk Products

 Contaminated Milk Products

China’s health ministry has proclaimed that the most of the contaminated milk products that resurfaced in China recently have been recalled and destroyed.

In view of the controversy of repackaging of the melamine-tainted milk products, China declared a new food-safety campaign.

"As of now, most of the tainted milk products have been recalled and destroyed, and none has entered the market or been exported", claims the Health Ministry, in a statement.

In 2008, the milk scandal had reportedly sickened more that 300,000 children, claiming 6 deaths.

Melamine is usually added to watered-down milk to make it appear rich in protein in quality tests that measure nitrogen, found in both the melamine and protein. Health problems from the chemical include kidney stones and kidney damage.

The Chinese Health Ministry clarified that it hasn’t found any melamine-tainted dairy products in exports or the consumer market after investigating the redistribution of some of the toxic chemical.

After the authorities in areas including Shaanxi and Shanghai found illegal additive in the possession of criminals, the offenders were arrested.
