Recession Giving Birth to Impotence in Men

A fresh research enlightens the fact that recession related stress is leading to impotency in men.

Though the economy is facing recession for the past 18 months, there has become a rise in the number of men, below 30s who are seeing general practitioners for stress and depression related problems and 1 out of every 10 of these are suffering with impotence.

Family Doctor Association released a report this month which was formed after a fresh research was conducted into this matter by them. They concluded that recession has led to restlessness, lack of sleep and dietary irregularities in men.

On being asked about the reasons for their stress and anxiety, many of them told that they all suffer from the fear of lack of job security.

Depression may lead to erectile dysfunction. Men find it really difficult to maintain an erection when their mind is preoccupied with any kind of tension or worry. The very part of the brain which sends impulses to the penis is weakened by negative messages.

Dr Peter Swinyard, chairman of the Family Doctor Association, said, "Money worries have always been a major cause of depression and stress-related illness but there is no doubt that the events of the past 18 months have exacerbated the effect”.
