A research conducted by The Princess Royal Trust for Carers raised questions about how only 23 percent of the £50 million were utilized by PCTs to improve the services for carers. The news was also highlighted by the Telegraph and the BBC.
The Princess, founder of the charity, has devised to open the Building Society to proceed with a roundtable discussion where she would be sharing her experiences with the charity as well as discuss the concern over the less expenditure done by PCTs on Carers, though being allotted a huge amount of £50 million.
She will pose the question to the Government politicians after receiving complaints from Carers across UK.
Care Services Minister Phil Hope, minister for health and social care Stephen O'Brien and Paul Burstow from Liberal Democrat will also be sharing their views in the event. Carole Cochrane, Chief Executive at The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, commented that it is admirable that the three parties have decided to work together by leaving their differences aside.
The charity wishes the three parties to undertake the liability that each and every carer will be bestowed with financial support if required. The Building Society to Care event will be organized in Central London on Tuesday.
