Do you think that the Internet needs to be revamped? Considering the fact that everything else in the technology world is being given a new look, this would not be such a bad idea after all. And Cisco has already started working towards giving the world a new, next-generation Internet.
Recently, the company announced the Cisco® CRS-3 Carrier Routing System, which has been designed to specifically serve as the foundation stone for the new Internet. Also, the new service looks to set pace for the amazing growth of video transmission, mobile devices and new online services over the present decade, and much beyond that.
With the initiative, Cisco seems to have taken a definite step in the right direction, especially with some major operators of the world already set to roll out their high-speed broadband connection, which promise much more speed than the services offer currently.
While Australia is busy developing its own high speed broadband connection, which aims to connect 90% of the country's population with the net, Google had announced last month that it will also be releasing its 1 Gbps connection, in order to take the high-speeds offered by connections to an all together new level.
Ever since Cisco ended its partnership with Hewlett-Packard, it has been announcing new and interesting ventures, and the next generation Internet has come as the latest development in a series of similar ones, aimed at making the world a better and more interesting place.
