X-GEN Pharmaceuticals to begin marketing of Acetazolamide Inj

X-GEN Pharmaceuticals, focused on the development, manufacture and delivery of specialty pharmaceutical products has reported that it will commence marketing Acetazolamide for Injection USP.

The product is AP rated and equivalent to Diamox(R)(1) by Duramed Pharmaceuticals.

Acetazolamide for Injection USP is indicated for adjunctive treatment of: edema due to congestive heart failure; drug-induced edema; centrencephalic epilepsies (petit mal, unlocalized seizures); chronic simple (open-angle) glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, and preoperatively in acute angle-closure glaucoma where delay of surgery is desired in order to lower intraocular pressure.

An official of the company revealed that Acetazolamide for Injection USP will be supplied as a sterile, preservative-free lyophilized powder. Each vial contains acetazolamide sodium equivalent to 500mg of acetazolamide.
