According to a new study, women have a better memory than men.
The study conducted by University of London comprised 9,600 people in their 50s, and it discovered that middle-aged women have better memories than men.
While in the first experiment, volunteers had to listen to 10 words and were given two minutes to recall as many as possible, they were to list the same 10 words about five minutes later in the second test.
It was found that in both the tests women outshined men with nearly 5% in the first test and almost 8% in the second test.
The report authors, Matthew Brown and Brian Dodgeon said, "Men performed significantly more poorly in the verbal memory tests, particularly on the delayed memory test".
It is noteworthy that it is the first time in UK that such a huge number of middle-aged men and women of the same age have appeared for these kinds of memory tests, though earlier studies have generated similar results.
