2012 Police Interceptor Unveiled by Ford

The law enforcement agencies will get the "ultimate cop car" in late 2011. The police Interceptor will be released as 2012 model and will differ slightly from the current food Taurus range.

As far as its rear view is concerned, it has push bars with integrated LED lights and a polished honeycomb grille cuddled up behind it.

Where there should have been ford lights, the Ford has put a light tube that acts as a strobe which will give this vehicle a great at night street presence when the park lights are on. It is the first ever car to be offered with projector headlamps and LED's integrated into the side view mirrors.

The doors have been designed in such a way that they open an extra 10 degrees. The gear selector has been moved to the collar of the steering wheel, so that some free space is spared in the center console for computers.

In the previous year, Ford has managed to sell about 50,000 police vehicles which accounted for 75% of the market share. The company expects to maintain the same share, as it launches the new Police Interceptor.
