Known as Core Design earlier, Rebellion's Derby studio is possibly famous for its work on the Tomb Raider series.
Today, Rebellion declared that it will shut down its Derby studio and terminate a number of junior positions at its bigger Oxford offices.
The developer has been evaluating its operations since January.
CEO Jason Kingsley told GamesIndustry. biz, "Sadly we didn't find any solution other than closure for the Derby studio. At the same time as we were considering the options for the Derby studio, we were also looking at our staff needs in Oxford, given shifting business models and opportunities".
He added that last year they have had good results working with some outsourcing associates, which resulted in small tasks in the Oxford office that were no longer required.
However, he said that they have two unannounced titles at various stages of development with publishers, and they are working on their own IPs. And hope to make declaration about these soon.
Rebellion's latest release is Aliens vs. Predator.
