The Great Canadian Meatout, which proclaims to be the world's biggest and oldest grassroots diet education campaign, will complete its 25th successful anniversary on March 20 with several local community activities and events across the world, including the United States, France, Germany and Italy.
This year, like before, the message is to advertise veganism for health and ecological benefits by underlining the obesity pandemic and the increase in vegan and meat, dairy options in schools, markets and restaurants.
For seeking involvement, Meatout offers online banners, invite individuals to consider converting vegan, and if veganism is not for you, then possibly try joining Meatout Mondays with a collection of Italian Meatout vegan recipes on the Italian site.
The meatout campaign urges to “kick the meat habit and explore a wholesome, non-violent, plant based diet”, which is healthier for both our bodies and the earth. Celebrities like Alicia Silverstone and Paul McCartney will lend their support and festivals, walks, lectures and community dinners will be held to help spread the message.
Organizer, Sarah Rosenzweig, says, “We’re also looking to show people that there are a lot of different foods included in the Vegan diet”.
