Digital software firm Sonic Solutions as entered into a definitive agreement to acquire CinemaNow, a privately held online entertainment provider based in Marina Del Rey, California.
The acquisition of CinemaNow, would offer digital video distribution rights of over 6,000 high-quality Hollywood movies, TV shows and music videos to users across multiple platforms.
CinemaNow, founded in 1999, is an innovator in digital entertainment technology, delivering high-quality Hollywood movies, TV shows and music videos to users across multiple platforms. The company has relationships with more than 250 content providers, including all major Hollywood studios, and supplies premium entertainment services.
Presently, CinemaNow charges between US$ 8.99 to US$ 14.99 to burn a movie to a DVD and approximately between $9.99 to $19.99 to download the content on hard drive.
The deal is expected to close shortly.
