After an unpleasant view of Windsor was taken last year, when garbage was mounding up because of a municipal strike when cameras knocked the streets of the city, Google has announced that it will reshoot Windsor, Ont.
In the original shot for Google's Street View, which is a popular three-dimensional mapping application, it consisted of pictures of a murder scene outside a Windsor strip club. Google has already eliminated the aberrant images.
Soon, Google will be approaching a town near you.
Yesterday, the company declared that over 150 cities are already a part of Google's street view, comprising Montreal, but that will be enlarged in the upcoming months.
Google's street view permits consumers of the company's Maps or Earth applications to get photographs of the location they are searching, as seen from a mobile camera mounted to a car.
Google did not state which cities would be included, but said that the list of cities it will be visiting, will be displayed at google. ca/streetview starting next week. The website will be updated on a regular basis.
