Fourth body washes up on beach after South African boat accident

Johannesburg - The fourth body from a fishing boat accident at the beginning of the week washed up on a South African beach, the South African Press Association reported Friday, citing the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI).

The Kingfisher capsized in bad weather Monday evening near Oyster Bay in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa with 19 crew members on board.

Rescue volunteers found the latest body at low tide on Thursday, SAPA said.

"A search operation is continuing in an effort to find the 10 missing fishermen, who are presumed to have drowned," NSRI spokesman Craig Lambinon said in a statement.

Five men survived the capsizing of the boat: one swam to shore, another used the life raft and the three others were rescued from the water.

Three bodies had been recovered before Thursday. dpa)(
