A 31% comparative elevation from last year has been witnessed by global investments in renewable energy for the first quarter.
This inclination, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance, was a result of increasing demand of wind power in China.
As compared to an average of $20.8 billion in the first quarter of 2009, the new spending on wind, geothermal power and solar power via share offerings, asset finance and venture capital collectively was recorded to be $27.3 billion in the three months through March.
This was stated by the New Energy Finance in an e-mail today.
New Energy Finance's Chief Executive Michael Liebreich said that the company is bound to give overall new investments in clean energy that have been predicted for 2010. Michael also explained that the total for the year that has been forecast will reach between $175 billion and $200 billion, which was $162 billion last year.
24% up from first quarter, the investments in China were $6.5 billion, which was concluded by $14.1 by the Wind Farm in the total with a 43% elevation from the last year.
It has also been said that the wind power capacity will probably rise with an average of 21% yearly through 2014, said the Global Wind Energy Council.
