31 Year Old Australian Mom Suffering from Alzheimer's Gives Birth
 Rebecca Doig

A 31 year old mother from Australia has been suffering from a very rare early form of Alzheimer's and she now has trouble remembering that just last week, she gave birth to a baby girl.

Rebecca Doig, who everyone believes is probably the first ever victim of this condition to have successfully given birth, is the patient. Her husband, Scott, has said that his wife is "like an 80-year-old going on 5 years old".

"She has gone from being an independent, outgoing and bright young woman to someone who doesn't recognize her own newborn daughter", he said.

The first ever signs of problems for the Sydney based couple came to light about 3 years back when Rebecca continually kept losing her handbag and other items. Scott says that initially they did not know what was wrong with her and she was put on antidepressants.

Also, she kept losing one job after another because of her repeated mistakes.

After consulting various doctors for many years, last August, a series of tests revealed that the lady has been affected by Alzheimer's.

Rebecca's Alzheimer's is extremely rare and affects only 5-10% of all patients of the condition.
