Wesley Mission desires to see mental health be placed at the topmost priority of the National Health and Political agenda’s list, after it was discovered that a stunning 77% of inhabitants in NSW have either suffered a mental health predicament or have known somebody who has the problem.

The report states that mental health should be everyone’s business. It also established that almost 53% of the society will definitely experience a mental health problem during the course of their lives. They also found that one third of youngsters even go undiagnosed.

The CEO of Wesley Mission, the Rev. Dr. Keith Garner said that the report illustrates that mental health is quite an important issue.

ABS research has shown that almost 80,000 individuals in Sydney have been formally tested to be suffering from depression.

There has been a poor scenario as far as mental health is concerned. People are under diagnosed and lack of treatment is quite common in the city.

One of the reasons why people do not get themselves diagnosed or treated is the stigma or a sense of shame that is associated with the problem.
