Common New Year resolutions can lead to improvement in sexual health

Recent research has revealed that some popular New Year resolutions can actually help in improving sexual health. Researchers said that the most popular New Year resolution to reduce weight can help in curing various problems like the erectile dysfunction because sexual dysfunction is strongly affected by obesity.

The resolution to quit smoking can help decreasing risk of bladder cancer. According to statistics of the American Cancer Society, smokers are twice as likely to get bladder cancer as non-smokers. The study revealed that only 33 percent of population is aware of the fact that smoking is a leading risk factor for bladder cancer.

The New Year resolution to give up high cholesterol food will protect many men from heart problems along with help in managing the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level.

Dr Stephen J. Freedland said, “We don't understand exactly how cholesterol affects prostate health. But, we are finding that that there is an important link. Thus, managing your cholesterol level may not only reduce the risk of heart disease, but improve prostate health.”

Anxiety and stress along with diabetes, obesity, hypertension and smoking are some of the major causes of erectile dysfunction (ED). Men suffering from persisting stress should consult a doctor. Researchers concluded that overall good health lead to a better sexual health and performance.
