Jennifer Hudson tops nominations for NAACP awards

Los Angeles  - US singer and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson, 27, dominated the nominations for the 40th NAACP Image Awards.

Hudson was nominated seven times for the prestigious awards, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the oldest US civil rights organization, announced Wednesday.

Fellow singer Beyonce Knowles, 27, led the music category with five nominations and one in the movie category, while Alicia Keys, also 27, was nominated four times.

The NAACP lists its Image Awards in 53 categories, including music, television and movies, which will be presented on February 12 in Los Angeles. (dpa)
