MPs have been told by an Italian doctor that it will be immature to refuse an access of his procedure to the Canadian patients. This process involves an unconfirmed treatment for multiple sclerosis, which is pioneered by the Italian doctor, Dr. Paolo Zamboni.
Zamboni said that it wouldn’t be appropriate if the treatment is not taken further because on who’s so ever this procedure has been tried, it has given “significant reduction” in the deterioration of MS and a decline in chronic exhaustion, which is also one of the disabling indications of the disease.
A link between the blocked neck veins and MS has been revealed in this research by Zimboni, whereas this was always thought to be an autoimmune disease. He said that since the blood isn’t draining appropriately, therefore, iron is being manufactured. This is treated by either interleaving a stent, or by a method known as angioplasty, which involves inserting of a balloon.
His research hasn’t been supported completely elsewhere, as it still keeps the idea behind the curtains, whether the MS results in blocked veins, or the blocked veins causes the MS, or if both are totally distinct. Also, some doctors commented that this job is much more time consuming.
Dr. Robert Maggisano, of Toronto's Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, said, “We're wasting time and money, and certainly not helping our people, who are going overseas to get treatment, when we should be able to do the studies in a blinded fashion within Canada”.
