Egoyan to direct Hollywood sex thriller

Atom Egoyan will be directing Chloe a sex thriller. The Hollywood big budget has a star cast of Oscar nominees Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson and Amanda Seyfried. The scripting has been done by Erin Cressida Wilson.

Jason Reitman will be executive producer along with Joe Medjuck and Jeffrey Cllifford.

The film will be produced through Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock's Montecito Picture Company. The financing will be done by StudioCanal, the French production company.

The shooting is scheduled to commence from February in Toronto. The film is in the similar genre as Fatal Attraction and is described as "a smart, sexy thriller".

"It's a really intelligent script," Egoyan said. "It's incredible because the prostitute comes back with these amazing erotic stories about a man his wife thought she knew. She gets addicted to them and they enter into a complicated relationship." The film revolves around a successful doctor (Moore) who inadvertently endangers her family when she hires an alluring young escort (Seyfried) to seduce her husband (Neeson), whom she suspects of cheating.

The filmmaker's latest feature, Adoration, was chosen as one of the Toronto International Film Festival's top 10 films of 2008.

Egoyan was nominated for Best Director Oscar The Sweet Hereafter.
