Modest Men Face Difficulty in Finding Jobs, Less Likeable by Women
Finding Jobs

A modest man is seen as “more feminine man”, by females, according to a research. Modesty is seen as a poor character trait, which also impacts their earning possibility. Though, men never see modesty as a bad character trait in women.

In a study that included of 132 female and 100 male student volunteers, “modest” males were less appreciated. The results of the research are published in the journal Psychology of Men and Masculinity. The study led by Corinne Moss-Racusin, a psychologist stated that women must not be dominant, as historically as well as culturally, men tend to be more independent and self-focused as compared to women.

Miss Moss-Racusin further added that dominance is a character trait, which is reserved for men and prohibited for women. She said, “Thus, gender stereotypes are comprised of four sets of rules and expectations for behavior consist of both 'should’ and 'should notes’ for each gender”.

Modest men also find it difficult to find jobs.

Miss Moss-Racusin belongs to Rutgers University, New Jersey elaborated that unassuming and self-effacing men are less liked by women, as compared to masculine ones. Such humility in men is a great turn-off for women; it is an indication of social criticism as well as weakness.
