Walgreen is offering a new health program for companies that purchase health care for their employees.
The health plan called “Complete Care and Well-Being” would be of benefit for the businesses. It would save their costs on health care as the cost of drugs and treatments would be offered at subsidized prices in the program. The aim of the health care program would be to bring together the company’s pharmacies and clinics that would provide cost effective medical care.
Walgreen is well known its thousands of U. S. drugstores. The company also runs hundreds of health clinics in stores and at corporate offices including Disney and Harrah's.
Walgreen already has established about 680 clinics. By the end of August it plans to have 800 clinics. Employees can visit physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists and other health care workers at Walgreen's clinics at businesses. Buyers of Walgreen product would also save 15% on brand name medicines purchased from its stores.
