US has seen 54,000 job losses in August

According to the latest figures of the Labor Department, the US economy has seen another 54,000 job losses in the month of August making it the third consecutive month of job losses in US.

As a result to the job losses the unemployment rate grew up to 9.6% in August from 9.5% of July. But the private sector brought some good news by creating 67,000 jobs which was higher than expected before.

The US President Mr. Barack Obama has said that he was happy with the figures but it needed to improve top strengthen the economy of US. He also unveiled abbot his plan to create jobs for people and to boost the economy as the rising unemployment rate is pushing down the economic growth of the country.

The Labor Department has also revised the job loss figures of July and June, the job losses in July revised down to 54,000 from 131,000 and the job losses in June revised down to 175,000 from 221,000.

As per the reports the main reason behind the job losses in August was the fall in the government employment.
