As Spears begins the publicity tour of her new album 'Circus', pulling no punches she spills the beans and no subject is sacrosanct or off-limits, as far as she is concerned, not even the break-up of her marriage.
For the first time, talking to Rolling Stone magazine, Britney reveals the truth behind her divorce. According to Spears, she never thought her husband would leave her, but he did and it was Kevin Federline who was responsible for pulling out of their marriage, not she. In a teary interview for MTV's documentary entitled 'Britney: For the Record', she admits that marrying Federline was a huge mistake, as she married for all the wrong reasons. Instead of following her heart, she married Federline, because the idea appealed to her, just for the heck of it! The marriage soured and things got weird, around the time Federline began to work on his own projects, such as, his rap album.
However, life seems to be brightening and on the upswing, as an improved Britney assisted under a team of minders under the charge of her father, help her move on. She has also begun dating and has been on two chaperoned dates so far, the first since her controversial relationship with paparazzo Adnan Ghalib. Unfortunately, Britney says the dates didn't work out, as the first was 'an older version of Harry Potter, but skinnier', while the second an older guy, was very much into martial arts.
Posing for the magazine cover, Britney looks happy, healthy, even wholesome post-breakdown in a T'shirt and jeans. Seems she has finally gotten herself together. As for 'my babies daddy', she only sees Federline when trading off the children, who she says are picking up his bad behaviour, using words like stupid, with Preston sometimes even using the f-word.
Both MTV and Rolling Stone reveal, despite a very candid Britney, her questions were vetted by her father and managers, who ensured she was never left alone while being interviewed.
A newly all work and no play Britney, heads to Europe for the weekend promotion of her new single 'Womaniser'. She will be back in the States on 2nd December, celebrating her 27th birthday by performing on 'Good Morning America'.
