A new study has put forward an astonishing finding that women, in order to get a promotion at their workplace, are more than happy to dress skimpily and more astonishingly, one third of them are already doing it.
According to the study, it has let them to obtain great results which they wouldn’t have gotten otherwise.
This conclusion was reached at via a poll undertaken by fashion forum site TheRagTrader in which approximately 3,000 employees, both male and female, expressed that fashion is of utmost priority for the latter, even at the workplace, where it is believed it should come in second.
But it would be quite surprising to know that the survey’s result displayed that some women can take fashion to extreme extent in order to win a promotion or get what they want.
It was revealed by 27% of women that they won’t mind at all to wear a skimpy dress to get a promotion, a bonus or some sort of attention from a direct superior. More shocking was to know the one in twenty women were already doing it on a regular basis with the best results, since they believe, it helped them be noticed as their professional achievements were not that impressive.
Furthermore, 78% women of the same 3,000 respondents informed that their professional performance and evolution was heavily depended upon their dress code at the workplace. However, 48% women feel that dressing smartly helps them to stay in control and 61% of the same held the opinion that dressing smartly helped them to gain more respect from their colleagues.
A spokesperson for TheRagTrader said, “The research proves that what you wear to work can really affect your success rate. This relates to both accomplishing more during 9-5 and even climbing the career ladder quicker too. Even when working from home, it’s incredible how clothing can influence your productivity. If your clothing is too relaxed in style it’s harder to get into work mode and all too easy to waste the day.”
