Sam Lufti, Britney Spears's former manager on Tuesday filed a suit in an L. A. court, suing the singer, including her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, for defamation and breach of contract, also claiming libel, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress, three days after Britney obtained a restraining order against him and her former squeeze, Adnan Ghalib.
The court issued the new restraining order against Lufti, after Jamie Spears accused him of harassing the Spears family, alleging Lufti in concert with two other men 'are now working in concert to disrupt the conservatorship with utter disregard for Ms. Spears's health and well being'.
In his 45-page lawsuit, Lufti claims Britney's parents launched a smear campaign, designed not only to destroy Lutfi, but to also drive him out of Britney's life, thus providing Jamie the opportunity to be appointed as Britney's conservator.
Further, Lufti alleges that despite achieving their objectives, Britney's parents campaign of lies and intimidation continues, leaving him no alternative, but to take legal action to defend him self against their persistent attacks. He also claims the allegations Lynne Spears makes in her book 'Storm', about Lufti's control over Britney, damaged his reputation and are complete 'lies and fabrication'.
In addition, Lutfi claims Britney owes him fees for past services, which according to an oral agreement would compensate him 15% of her earnings as manager, and confirmed in a 13rd October 2007 text message from the singer saying: 'sam, so thats fine, i want you to be my manager, you were right its 15 percent of my money but for 4 years not 5.'
Lutfi claims he has not been paid for his services.
While, Jamie Spears lawyers were not immediately available for comment, Lutfi's lawyer in his statement to People magazine says, there is 'overwhelming evidence from independent witnesses'.
