Rats Got Hangover to Get the Way Out
Rats Got Hangover

In a recent study on how to get rid of the hangover due to alcohol consumption by Dr. Michael Oshinsky of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, it has been revealed that a certain dose of caffeine or an anti-inflammatory drug like aspirin can easily help you to get rid of a hangover.

Dr. Oshinsky induced small amount of pure alcohol, ethanol, to the laboratory rats to create headache in them and later used a certain dose of caffeine or anti-inflammatory drug and found that the result s were remarkable.

He found that the doses made a blockade for the acetate that helped in reducing the headache. The rats were not even dehydrated which was quite contrary to the argument that coffee should not be given as a hangover cure as accelerates dehydration further. The new research will create a new debate over the subject of a cure for a hangover.

Some of the scientists believe that the best treatment for getting rid of a hangover is to drink water as much as possible to thin down the effect of the hangover. Water is a good cleanser for the human body.

Some still believe that a full English breakfast is a good way out from a hangover. Another group of people believe that taking painkillers would cause a stomach upset.

Dr. Oshinsky told the journal New Scientist, "None of the commonly cited causes of hangovers could have caused this response."
