Microsoft Network launches Wonderwall for celebrity news

You can now get more glimpses of the lives of Tinseltown Superstars; you can now get every latest gossip about Hollywood celebrities; you can now get more about Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Angelina Jolie, etc. Well, Microsoft Corp's online service MSN, on Thursday, launched a celebrity gossip site, Wonderwall.com, which gives you the feel of a celebrity magazine offering photos and gossips of hot Hollywood celebrities.

With its weekly-like celebrity website, Wonderwall.com, which is launched in collaboration with the Hollywood production company BermanBraun, run by Lloyd Braun and Gail Berman, the former heads of Hollywood TV operations, MSN aims to compete with the gossip sites like TMZ.com and PerezHilton.com.

Wonderwall.com is designed by Alex Blagg, who created the popular blog "Best Week Ever" for cable channel VH1. Blagg is also the lead editor of Wonderwall. As its name sounds, the site looks like a wall with photos, graphics, features, and more photos of celebrities.

Speaking of the site, the MSN General Manager, Rob Bennett said, “It takes all the celebrity content on MSN and puts it in one place.” Comparing Wonderwall.com with the established TMZ and People magazine, Braun said, "It will definitely have edge.”

According to MSN, they decided to bring out the Wonderwall, seeing 84% of the web users visiting an entertainment site every month, making entertainment more popular area than social networks, retail, or other traditional outlets. And, according to comScore, the gossip category grew at a 12% clip last year.
