Father's needs to take a step back, if they want to feed their kid. A recent study by the Ohio state University unveiled another fascinating fact about the impact father's involvement in the child care activities on the couple's co-parenting relationship. As per the survey conducted on 112 couples, the parents were asked to fill up a questionnaire in two stages, to study their marital relationship, when the father is involved in playing with the kid and while involved in care giving activities.
The results revealed that the couples seem to be more co-operative towards each other, when father spends more time in leisure activities with the kid. Contrary to that, couples reported to have conflicts between them, when the father volunteers to activities like feeding the kid, bathing etc.
Researchers observed a significant human behaviour in case of care giving, as the parents try to outdo each other in their efforts to work with their children,
The study has reaffirmed that in order to maintain a cordial relationship with the spouse; the male partner need not cross the line, while indulging in mundane activities with the kid.
Sarah Schoppe-Sullivan, co-author of the study and associate professor of human development and family science at Ohio State University reportedly expressed a mixed feeling over the study as most of the couples, now a day's, share mutual responsibility towards their kids.
