It's still not clear whether Apple has officially barred the popular social networking site, Facebook from its retail stores, but there certainly is hot rumor floating on the web that Apple has blocked its customers' access to Facebook.
According to reports, Apple has blocked the social networking site Facebook, which has earned reputation of time-sucking site - Apple has added the Facebook to its list of blocked sites.
TinyComb. com was the first to report the "Apple blocking Facebook" news, which has not yet been officially confirmed by any of the companies.
One of the Apple Store employees reported that Facebook access has actually been blocked for about a month. He said, Apple stores have become a regular Internet Cafe, so placing the most popular time-killer [Facebook] of them all on the banned list will certainly help everyone get a chance to test out the computers."
He added, "It's just trying to find a balance between letting people try out the computers, but not tying them up so others can try them as well." He also reported that a few other sites have also been blocked, but the company has not yet issued the official list.
On the contrary, An Apple Store representative said, "We have not blocked Facebook from our stores."
So, it appears that the block has been put by some of the stores, not all the stores. Yet, neither Apple nor Fcebook have reacted to the web rumor.
