Will Kindle 2 work outside the United States?

Since the Kindle 2 has been unleashed by Amazon on the U. S. market, the tech savvy people outside the United States are anxious to grab the device. Certainly, the Kindle 2's sleek design and excellent features have made people anxious and excited about the e-book reader.

However, the big questions are "Will Kindle 2 work outside the United States? And Will Kindle 2 be shipped outside the United States?"

Well, not actually right now. The reason is that the Kindle 2 works using Sprint manufactured modem that is only compatible with the U. S. network. To ship the device outside the United States, Amazon will have to change its basic hardware, which Amazon would not want. What is more, Amazon will also have to ink new deals with the publishers who provide content for the device. Hence, the availability of Kindle 2 outside the United States is not possible right now.

Commenting on international availability of Kindle 2, Amazon stated, "We do not comment on future releases." So, if you are looking to grab the device outside United States, you will have to wait until Amazon decides to ship the device outside U. S.
