Nicollette Sheridan Leaving ‘Desperate Housewives’

ABC comedy 'Desperate Housewives' Wisteria Lane will be losing one of its residents in the form of blonde-bombshell Realtor Edie Britt played by Nicollette Sheridan.

While, no further details have been given by the network when Sheridan 's loud-mouthed character is to exit the show, nor under what circumstances, E! online columnist Ted Casablanca writes Britt could die in a car accident, after dodging shady new screen husband Dave Williams' plot to kill her off.

Once before, Sheridan 's character left the TV show last season, driven out of Wisteria Lane by the other housewives, with the show fast-forwarding five years in the fall of 2008.

In the 1990s, Brit Sheridan, 45, appeared in US TV soap opera 'Knots Landing', before joining 'Desperate Housewives' in 2004.
