Fugitive caught in Michigan

ROMULUS, Mich., Nov. 30 -- A once-convicted killer awaiting trial for attempted murder, assault and armed robbery was recaptured Sunday after escaping a Michigan jail, authorities said.

Michigan State Police said Jonathan Good, 36, formerly of Charlotte, Mich., was arrested without incident by city police in Romulus during a traffic stop, The Detroit News reported. Good was driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Mecosta County several hours earlier, the newspaper said.

Good is facing 31 counts, including attempted murder, armed robbery and assault with intent to commit murder. He had been on parole since 2006 after serving a prison term for second-degree murder an armed robbery.

Authorities said Good had escaped from the Mecosta County Jail Wednesday, the Lansing State Journal reported. Police said Good squeezed through a 2-foot-square skylight opening in a jail shower room after first removing a bolted metal mesh grate and breaking the fiberglass skylight, the newspaper said.(UPI)
