The web incubator of News Corp, Sligshot Labs, has come up with its offering called Daily Fill - the gossip-cum-entertainment news site, which has taken off right away, managing to pull nearly 1.3 million unique visitors during its January beta release.
The News Corp lineage has already given Daily Fill a leading edge in terms of its glitzy start, munificent marketing, and affiliations with well-known subsidiaries - MySpace and the NY Post's illustrious Page Six.
With Sligshot's Daily Fill having made its opening mark on the celebrity tittle-tattle scene, it has to constantly work at giving its shot to give some stiff competition to TMZ and Perez Hilton.
By and large, Daily Fill is quite similar to a horde of other such sites that provide a spell of celeb chit-chat with a comical overdose. However, it has more of pictures and lesser text and, obviously, fewer side-splitting punches! In addition, a major part of the site's content is pulled from sites like Exposay, Egotastic, and Gossip Girls.
There is no denying the fact that Daily Fill has a lot of competition to face, and merely depending on its laurels may not be enough - News Corp previous endeavor to turn Page Six into an online property ended in a debacle! The Daily Fill content should hit the gossip-circles with great panache!
