It’s a stylish and elegant looking MVP – “Most Versatile Phone” for customers; that’s what the Verizon Wireless and LG Electronics are touting about LG Versa, which has been announced today. The phone has been named LG Versa for its promised versatility.
Well, you can customize LG Versa according to your choice. Basically looking like an LG Dare, the LG Versa comes with an attachable QWERTY keyboard, but you can go with keyboard as well. You can use the phone through its 3", 240x480 touch screen display. The detachable QWERTY keyboard attachment also has a small monochrome external OLED screen at the back.
LG Versa home screen, featuring animated 3D interface, lets you customize three different home screens with three different layouts of your choice. The phone also features an HTML Web browser with Flash and RSS feeds, support for three windows at once, and a built-in accelerometer. The phone offers support for Verizon's V Cast Music with Rhapsody, V Cast Video, Visual Voice Mail, GPS with VZ Navigator.
LG Versa features a 2.0-megapixel camera with 640x480 video recording, with face detection and built-in image editor, Music Player, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, GPS, visual voice mail, voice dialing, a 2.5-mm headset jack, a speakerphone, and various other wonderful features. It sports a microSD card slot with up to 16GB support, a USB mass storage mode, threaded messaging capability, a drawing pad, and of course EV-DO Rev. A.
LG Versa can also be used as modem to your laptop, but it will not be free; it will require $59.99 Mobile Broadband Connect access fee, and usage will be limited to 5GB a month. Visual Voice Mail will be available for $2.99 a month.
According to Verizon Wireless and LG, more attachments and accessories for the Versa will be released in the future. LG Versa will be available online and in stores on March 1st. The phone will be available for $249.99 with a two-year contract, and a $50 rebate that brings its cost down to $199.99.
