Too Much Calcium Might Be Dangerous For Your Heart

According to a recent study, it has been revealed that calcium supplements are not good for the heart of a person. It has been revealed that the best thought medicine for the treatment of Osteoporosis might injure the heart and lead to heart attacks in extreme cases.

GPs tend to stress on the fact that one should be able to meet their daily needs of Calcium in order to keep their body fit and healthy for a longer time. Calcium does give a person strong teeth as well as strong bones. The research however suggested that the heart of a person might get severely deteriorated with the continuous use of calcium supplements.

The research was conducted by Bolland together with his colleagues. The new findings have been published in the British Medical Journal and might soon have its effects seen on the recommendations made by the Doctors.

The study found that with the use of these supplements, the risk of myocardial infarction might get raised by a serious 30%. The reason behind this might be the fact that with the consumption of these supplements, the calcium levels in the body might increase suddenly. This might lead to hardening of the arteries of the heart.

This might be a very dangerous situation and should be avoided by all means. Having a natural balanced diet instead might prove to be helpful. This would give enough calcium to the body without the risks involved.
