More start-ups, fresh ideas, and aggressive leaders - that's what the slumping economy needs to come out of its present pothole! And, Adeo Ressi, the founder of VC-rating site TheFunded, intends contributing his bit towards helping jump start the economy.
In order to spruce up young founders into successful CEOs, Ressi plans rolling out a start-up incubator - TheFunded Founder Institute - on the lines of other similar endeavors like SeedCamp, TechStars, Y Combinator, and LaunchBox Digital.
However, unlike other incubators, which necessitate entrepreneurs to change place and take a break from work for attending programs, Ressi's new enterprise, essentially a part-time commitment, would allow professionals to attend classes, while continuing with their jobs.
The four-month long semester-based startup camp, to have a maximum of 150 students, will basically cater to those extremely early-stage entrepreneurs who have their fundamental start-up ideas in place, but are yet to establish a company. The several CEOs and investors associated with theFunded, will help students get the requisite exposure of the tech industry.
A kind of an amalgamation of a typical incubator and a crash-course in executive education, Ressi's innovative model would focus more on the qualities of budding entrepreneurs, rather than the prospects of the proposal for the startup.
Ressi said: "We're searching for more unusual, unique founders from a variety of industries who can be groomed into successful founders."
