Nicotine addiction is majorly affecting a big population in the region and thus it has become really important for the authorities to introduce some effective steps that could kick these habits at the earliest possible.

One such recently introduced way to kick the nicotine addiction habit is the North Dakota Tobacco Quitline and Quitnet, which is being referred by most of the health departments and even Theresa Knox, who gave up her smoking habits twenty-five years ago, when she quit cold turkey, as nicotine replacement medication like patches or lozenges were not common at that time and is now working as the tobacco prevention coordinator for Grand Forks Public Health Department.

Even she agrees to help smoking patients learn more about their addiction by preferably referring her patients the North Dakota Tobacco Quitline and Quitnet, the counseling services that are being provided by Quitline, which is an important tool to fight against nicotine addiction.

Quitline is basically a telephone-based counseling service, which has been operating in North Dakota since 2004 and primarily aims at quitting Nicotine habits and Quitnet is its online counterpart, which has been operational since 2010.

“You’re not going to go in and try to hammer a nail with your fist. You’re going to use a hammer,” she said. “When the right tool is needed, they can offer that support to you.”
