Victoria Calls For Quarantine Due To Avian Flu

Yet again a new avian flu has arrived, this time in Victoria named as avian paramyxovirus. Not much time has passed when UN's FAO warned the countries about the deadly bird flu, which has come with a new strain that is immune to the existing vaccines.

And, now this flu has arrived which has created havoc in the region and especially for pigeons as it mostly affects them. Efforts have been done to evade the virus, and for that, authorities have asked to check poultry in order to ensure that they are sake. As already millions of poultry items have been destroyed due to this ghastly flu.

Authorities have called for quarantine method and it is considered that 14 properties are under that process. In order to ensure safety, industry heads has asked chicken breeders to keep their poultry under shed and in clean environment until they receive further notification from the authorities.

This virus has already created havoc in New South Wales in 1990s as their maximum poultry was destroyed due to it. Tasmanian authorities as well as South Australia and NSW authorities have asked for loc-ups for all domesticated pigeons.

Good news is that till now humans are said to be out of this flu danger.
