You rely on app reviews for picking your app from the Apple's iTunes App Store? Well, there are oodles of app reviews in the App Store review section, but "are these reviews reliable?" This definitely is the question that many of the people are not sure about.
Often, the app reviews in the App Store review section are posted by the app developers. The App Store review section is usually used by the app developers to attract customers. The app developers, who are not reviewing their apps, use their own rating system to rate their applications. Some use both rating systems and reviews to entice users.
Obviously, the app developers would not review their applications in negative light. The sole aim of the app developers is to entice more customers. Why would they portray their applications in negative light?
So, the majority of these reviews are doubtful!
Usually, the people who visit Apple's iTunes App Store to buy apps for their iPhone or iPod Touch devices do not take pain to determine whether an App Store review is credible? The people who browse the App Store via an iPhone or iPod Touch normally do not do any research to determine the credibility of the reviews. So, the app developers are the major gainers. They use their reviews and rating systems as lure to angle their fishes.
This is a big problem at the Apple's iTunes App Store. This is the problem Apple might be or might not be ware of, but the problem certainly needs to be addressed if it wants to hold its app customer base. Apple should not forget that there are several unauthorized app stores coming up that might attract its dissatisfied customers.
