Honda Unveils Modernized Version of ASIMO Robot

On Tuesday, the renowned auto maker Honda revealed its modernized version of ASIMO robot attributed with magnificent qualities such as fast running stamina, ability to recognize faces as well as voices and estimate fluctuations.

The Honda Robotics division has credited to develop the highly skilled updated robot ASIMO and anticipated that it will be available for practical use in coming years. The manufacturer has notified that multiple sensors that have enough calibers to offer identical services of human visual, auditory, and tactile senses have added a spark to its properties. These sensors have enabled the robot to estimate if anybody is walking towards it.

ASIMO is a 4-foot tall robot that weighs about 105 pounds and has strengthened legs along with better leg movement that allows it to walk around 5.5 miles per hour, run forward and backward and even on a rough surface.

In a statement, Honda has explained that efficient coordination of visual and auditory sensors has enabled the ASIMO to identify a face and voice, simultaneously. Further, the robot is also able to recognize multiple voices speaking at the same time, a tough task even for humans. "Striving to offer next-generation mobility products which expand the joy and fun of mobility, Honda will continue the robotics research that leads to Asimo, walking assist devices, U3-X and other technologies”, added the company.

Besides this, the robot is also able to perform some tasks such as serving drinks , open bottles and pour their content, ability to sign ‘I love you’ and a Japanese word kazoku the indicates a family.

As per the reports, the President of Honda, Takanobu Ito, it has displayed the modernized droid at Honda R&D's Fundamental Technology Research Center, situated in Wako, Saitama Prefecture near Tokyo.
