Acnes are the ugliest spots for women, especially if they have popped up on face. It has been claimed by dermatologists that successful women are more prone to developing acnes. According to them, high level of stress triggers male hormones in women, which blocks the skin pores and causes acnes.
It is for the very first time when it has been pinpointed that stress can play an important role in triggering acnes in women. For long, it was thought that teenager girls are more prone to developing acnes. However, now the threat of acnes has even spread to women above the age group of 25.
Normally, teenagers get acne around the “T-zone”, which is described as the area of forehead, nose and chin. The women under acute pressure also tend to get acnes around their “T-zone”. While acknowledging the findings of the dermatologists, Susannah Baron, of the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, noted, “It's time to re-evaluate who we think gets acne. It's not recognized enough how much it affects the lives of adult women. For many, it kicks in later in life when they have to juggle families and careers at the same time”.
The women’s skin as compared to men is quite sensitive and therefore it is more prone of being affected with acnes. Next time, if you see a woman above 25 and with acnes on her face then don’t be horrified as that women must be going through acute stress.
It has further come to light that acne affects women under acute stress drastically before and after their menstrual cycle. Besides, nicotine also promotes the growth of acnes on body as it boost the boost production of oily sebum which blocks the pores of skin. It is estimated that 66% of the working mothers are combating with the growing problem of acnes.
