1,300 Patients Struck Down by the Vomiting Bug

The winter vomiting bug is playing an absolute carnage all over the world. As per recent reports, it has been claimed that in excess of 1,300 patients have caught the extremely disastrous winter vomiting bug.

In addition, in excess of 50 NHS trusts have been invaded by the potentially terminal Norovirus and on top of that, various hospitals have closed their wards with the intent of limiting Norovirus outbreak.

Reports have claimed that the number of people affected by the infection has increased by a massive 60% during the last week, though the Department of Health has claimed that the increase was somewhat predictable and the rates are just `normal' considering the fact that it's peak flu time of the year.

Bassetlaw and Doncaster have been disturbed the most by the grave-inspiring vomiting bug.

Statistics have revealed that around 176 patients have been hospitalized at three hospitals all over the nation. In general, more than 1,293 patients were confirmed positive for carrying the bug at almost 51 NHS trusts all over England.

With the intent of safeguarding people from the spread of vomiting bug or the Norovirus, health officials have advised people to completely stay away from people suffering from the vomiting bug as it can result in transmitting the disease.

While expressing her intent in this regard, the general manager at Doncaster and Bassetlaw, Michelle Veitch claimed: "There has been an increase in Norovirus but according to my colleagues it is no worse than last year. It does put a strain on us as it means we have more patients to treat. We are trying to get the message out that the public shouldn't attend the hospital unless it is absolutely necessary".

She further claimed that the situation has been enhanced a bit during the last couple of days and the NHS trust have proved their efficiency for reopening some of the affected wards.
