Frankenstein Ants Created by Scientists

In an immensely amazing and momentous discovery, scientists have apparently developed the giant ants, which are capable of using their size for the sake of protecting the doorway to their particular nests. They are perhaps a throwback towards their predecessors that used to live on the Earth millions of years in the past.

The researchers claimed that though “Supersoldier” ants have the potential of getting birth through various natural means, the odds of their birth though natural processes are just next no not much. As per reports, they mainly breed in the arid regions of Mexico and America where they developed for the sake of protecting their colony from being invaded by giant ants.

However, during the course of study, which has been made available in the Science journal, the researchers claimed that man-made samples were formulated by the use of typical Pheidole morrisi ants, which are full of genetic tools needed for their progression into “Supersoldier” ants.

In this regard, the Canadian scientists employed a particular hormone lying on the larvae of run-of-the-mill worker ants with the intent of creating the gigantic ants.

While expressing his opinion in relation to the findings of the study, which was marshaled by Dr. Rajendhran Rajakumar, of Canada’s McGill University, Canada, the team of researchers claimed: “We uncovered an ancestral development potential to produce a novel supersoldier subcaste that has been retained throughout a hyperdiverse ant genus that evolved 35 to 60 million years ago”.

The results clearly highlight that having a firm grip on various ancestral progression tool kits might prove more than handy for growing new physical features, as revealed by the researchers. However, the team of expert researchers from all over the world was of the opinion that it is extremely and extensively programmed for becoming “supersoldiers”.

The advancement made be the study, as per researchers, uncovers that hidden features might be easily uncovered in a variety of species.
